Different jobs, honestly
Calendly wins when the goal is "pick a time, done." A prospect chooses a slot, Calendly writes the event to Google Calendar, sends confirmations, and optionally charges a card. That is the product. Awase wins when the schedule is layered — multiple Google calendars, private titles you cannot expose, an assistant who approves requests — and when you want Google to stay the source of truth without giving a scheduler write access to it.
What Awase actually does on a bookable link
A client opens your Awase share page, picks a booking type (say, a 30-minute intro call), chooses an open slot computed from your imported Google calendars plus your weekly availability rules, and submits a request. The booking sits in Pending until you or an assistant approves it. Then the client gets a confirmation email with an ICS attachment and an add-to-calendar link. The approved block is recorded on Awase's internal bookings calendar so it stops double-booking — it is not inserted into Google Calendar through the API, because Awase only requests read-only calendar access.
Awase advantage: You review who gets on the calendar before anything is confirmed — useful when client names in Google event titles are sensitive.
Where Calendly is still the better default
Sales teams that need round-robin, payment on booking, HubSpot or Salesforce routing, or instant self-serve confirmation at scale should use Calendly. It is mature, well documented, and built for that funnel. Awase is narrower: Google Calendar operators who care about privacy and delegation more than CRM plumbing.
