Give Your Assistant Calendar Access Without Sharing Your Google Password

Invite assistants to Awase with toggles for share links, availability rules, and booking approvals — not your Google login.

Executive assistants need to act on the schedule — publish links, adjust hours, approve requests — without inheriting the principal's Gmail and Google Calendar admin rights.

Real-world example

An EA for a startup CEO receives an invite link to the Awase workspace. Permissions enabled: Manage share links, Manage availability, Approve bookings. Disabled: connecting Google (owner-only). The EA updates Friday windows for "Investor intro" bookings, approves a pending request from a VC, and never sees the CEO's Google password or raw Gmail.

The three permissions Awase exposes

Manage share links — create View only / Bookable links, set calendar inclusion and Public/Private per link.

Manage availability — edit booking types, weekly hours, vacations, and exceptions.

Approve bookings — move Pending requests to Approved; triggers confirmation email to the client.

Assistants cannot connect or disconnect Google Calendar. The owner connects Google once.

What assistants see in the calendar

Private Google events appear as redacted busy blocks to assistants — same as on share pages. They do not bypass privacy by being "inside" the workspace.

Approved Awase bookings show in full to workspace members so the team knows what is confirmed.

Revoke cleanly when someone leaves

Remove the workspace member in Team settings. Their access ends without rotating the executive's Google password — which is what you'd have to do if you'd shared the login.

Quick answers

Can an assistant connect their own Google Calendar?

Google connection is for the workspace owner. Assistants work on calendars the owner already imported.

Can I give only approval rights?

Yes. Toggle only Approve bookings and leave share link and availability management off.

Worth trying on your actual calendar

Reading about private availability sharing is one thing. Connecting your Google calendars and sending a test link is the part that usually clicks.
